Sonia graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1999 and completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP law school.
She joined PSP in December 2001 as an outdoor clerk and was offered a training contract in April 2002. Whilst training, Sonia completed her seats in Crime, Housing, Immigration, Personal Injury and Family Law. Upon qualifying in 2004, Sonia joined a very busy Personal Injury department headed by John Gillman. Sonia undertook her own caseload, and as well as having a great interest in Personal Injury she also maintained a passion for Immigration Law.
Having recently returned from maternity leave, Sonia has now started her own Immigration Department. Sonia undertakes private immigration work. This includes entry clearance applications and appeals. She is accredited under the Law Societies Immigration and Asylum Scheme. Sonia has wide experience; her work has included acting for minors and victims of domestic violence.
Sonia has acted very successfully in Appeals involving a Human Rights dimension and has been successful across the full range of matters that clients bring to her, Immigration, Asylum and Naturalization and has succeeded in bail applications for detained clients. Sonia is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
Her hobbies include socializing with family and friends, cinema and travelling. Sonia is a member of the Joint Council for the welfare of Immigrants. Sonia is compassionate, diligent and thrives on offering a highly professional service.
As a busy mother of two, Sonia’s days in the office are Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.
