Graham Brierton

Senior Solicitor

Graham has been a Personal Injury litigator since qualification in 2000 and has over recent years also built up a successful practice in Clinical Negligence. He graduated with first class honours in law from the University of Westminster in 1996.

Graham runs a variety of types of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims. He is currently litigating 3 high value negligent birth claims. He recently settled (for 1.2 million pounds) a clinical negligence claim involving a missed diagnosis of breast cancer in a mother of two young children who had their own dependency claim following the sad death of their mum.

Previous cases include: (a) a settlement of just under 1 million pounds where a 13-year-old car passenger was severely injured when it ran into the back of a scaffolding truck; (b) an award of £65,000 for a client whose bile duct was severed whilst undergoing laparoscopic gall bladder surgery; (c) wrongful diagnosis and subsequent negligent treatment of a very rare urachal cancer leading eventually to a settlement of £167,500 (the defendant initially offered £50,000); (d) recovery of more than £140,000 for a client who had been severely beaten and suffered depressed fractures to her skull and brain damage.

Graham is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme and is accredited as a Litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). He is very aware of the stresses of bringing what are often very sensitive claims and always puts his clients’ needs and welfare first.

A highly committed, conscientious and skilful Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Lawyer, Graham, who was previously a professional musician, maintains his interest in music and bass playing.

RT @JanetDaby Today I called on the Government to do more to help criminal legal aid solicitors. Despite the warm words from @MoJGovUK many smaller firms are struggling financially and Tory cuts are making this situation worse.
