It is inevitably a very stressful time for all involved family members when a local authority gets legally involved in their lives.

Child Care

Our team of solicitors can advise on all aspects of contact, residence, financial support and parental responsibility. Our child care team consists of experienced solicitors who are members of the Law Society Children panel and have a wealth of experience in dealing with parents whose children have been, or are about to be placed in care.

We will represent you throughout the course of proceedings and make sure that the court is aware of your views. Every effort will be made to assist you in successfully keeping your child within your family environment.

We act for parents and children as well as for family members including grandparents and step-parents, across a range of proceedings. These include representation at child protection case conferences, emergency protection proceedings, care proceedings, child contact and child residence and adoption.

Funding

Legal aid is freely available for parents involved in care proceedings and may be available for grandparents and extended family members. Where legal aid is not available we can represent you on a reasonable private basis which includes a fixed fee arrangement.
