Sarah Jamieson

Senior Solicitor

Sarah has worked as a family solicitor for over 20 years. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel. In care proceedings when working with parents, she will go through the local authority evidence forensically with the client in order that evidence is properly challenged. At the same time, she will seek to ensure that clients are realistic and understand those Local Authority concerns which are accurate. This is to ensure that the parent can work on those problems and show the Local Authority and Court they have insight and capacity to change. She will also challenge Local Authorities upon the level of support they are providing for families.

Sarah acts for children by their Cafcass children’s guardians. Sarah will carefully consider support needed for the child and advocate for the child on behalf of the Guardian. She will always to try to prevent delays in proceedings by thinking ahead , considering and the possible outcomes and parties’ non engagement.

Sarah has experience in working on cases where parents have mental health issues, learning disabilities, substance abuse and domestic violence issues. She has worked with Deaf clients and extensively Bangladeshi families, having previously worked in Tower Hamlets.

Sarah does most of her own advocacy.

RT @JanetDaby Today I called on the Government to do more to help criminal legal aid solicitors. Despite the warm words from @MoJGovUK many smaller firms are struggling financially and Tory cuts are making this situation worse. My constituents deserve access to justice. @the_AYJ
